Milan Gay Guide

Milan is one of the largest city in the European Union and especially is recognized worldwide for being a design, fashion and gay-friendly capital. It is located in the north of Italy, with a mild Mediterranean climate with hot summers and a moderate cold fall winter.

Milan attracted a record number of tourists from all across the globe per year, most of all because the city is also home for several international events, including the Milan Fashion Week and the Milan Furniture Fair.

The Milan gay scene is more visible than elsewhere in Italy. This destination is home some of the best choices of gay and gay-friendly venues – and things to do – to be found anywhere. The gay centre is around Via Sammartini, near the Central Station, but in the last few years, the Milan gay life has made a new home in Porta Venezia, especially on Via Lecco. It is home to a growing number of Gay Bars, Dance Clubs and Cruise Clubs.

For nightlife and fun lovers Milan has plenty to offer, too: GATE Party takes place at TRACK Milano and is one of the large monthly gay dance party with international guest and hot dancers. Another ones, is La Boum, a very popular Friday night gay dance party in the city.

Milan is renowned in the world for its friendly hospitality, cafés and Apéritifs. This last one is very common across all restaurants and are always very popular. You can get drink and food served buffet style everyday, in the late afternoon or in the early evening. Navigli had some of the best choices.

Milan is also home to some of the world’s most impressive gay-friendly hotels. Staying in a hotel near the centre or around the most attractive sites and enjoy your Italian vacation at the top. We recommend; Hotel Straf, Ibis Hotel Milano Centro, MGallery La gare, Hotel Berna, Crowne Plaza.

The city is one of the greatest food & lifestyle places in the world, so it makes sense that the Milan’s restaurants are equally stylish. The most coolest and Instagrammable restaurants are; Riad, Macha, Fancytoast, Canteen, Bento and many others. So, enjoy and taste your stay!

The best time to visit Milan is in the summer, of course, but in June or in the middle of September, because in generally the weather warm – not so much – and sunny. The bad time is in the spring, if you don’t like the rain.

Milan has two international airports. Malpensa and Linate. Malpensa is located 50 km from the city centre, but it’s the main and served by the most important airline companies. Linate is much closer to the city but is only served only by domestic and a few European companies.
