Enjoy seven days in Italy, matching sea and good food!
We are taking you through one of the greatest food-culture-leisure experiences in Italy. You will travel by high-speed trains and slow down on the railway trail of the ‘Cinque Terre’.
From pesto sauce to blue fish; from street food to cooking classes, to vineyard tours and wine tastings. In only seven days, you will go back home with new recipes for Italian cooks and sommeliers.
A true taste of the Mediterranean Diet: you will also improve your knowledge of how to buy good quality food and how to prepare typical Mediterranean dishes.
On our shared street tours, you will be able to mix culture and cuisine and understand the real sense of place, as only locals can do.
Guided food and wine tour in the ‘carrugi’ (narrow streets of Genoa): visit of typical ‘botteghe’ (food shops), try some focaccia and pesto. (Genoa is a great historical town, the first port of Italy, fully of astonishing noble palaces and mansions ‘The Superb, for its men and its walls’, Genoa was called during the Renaissance). Its ‘Pesto sauce’, ‘Focaccia’ and ‘Pansotti’ are main Mediterranean dishes) Dinner in one of our recommended typical trattorias
Catch the train to Recco, to taste the fabulous ‘Cheese Focaccia’. Then, transfer to Sestri Levante and Portofino: cooking class and aperitive on the seaside. The afternoon reveals the beauty of Portofino: a walk to the ‘Faro’ (lighthouse) and then catch the train to Bonassola, the ‘door’ to the ‘Cinque Terre’.
Accommodation in Bonassola for 2 nights: enjoy the astonishing beauty of clear waters, the hamlets and landscapes of Monterosso, Corniglia, Vernazza, Manarola, and Riomaggiore (Cinque Terre).
Free day: you can catch the train from Bonassola to visit each of the ‘Cinque Terre’ and stop to try the local cuisine in one of the several trattorias along the way. Take a walk on the ‘Passeggiata dell’Amore’ ‘The Love Trail’ within the National Park, which winds along the rocks overlooking the sea.
In the afternoon, catch the train to Florence.
One is dedicated to cheese and red meat (salami, sausages, hams) and the second one is dedicated to Tuscan wine. These two will be shared walking tours with English speaking foodies who will lead you, for three hours, along the food history of Florence. You will sit into local ‘osterias’ to taste the local specialties.
You have a day off in Florence. We can arrange a guided tour for you, with entrances to several historical palaces and museums (Uffizi, Accademia, Bargello). Or, if you prefer, you can stroll around on your own, buy beautiful leather products or visit the Ponte Vecchio Jewelries.
Late afternoon: Catch the train to Naples

You are in the capital of pizza, of babàs, of fried bluefish! Here, a street food tour is the only way to really appreciate the Neapolitan cooking tradition. You will enjoy a three-hour street food &wine tour, which will introduce you also to the beauty of this royal city. Moving around in Naples is a great discovery of cultural essence: Piazza del Plebiscito, Chiaja promenade along the sea, the fortress of Maschio Angioino and the Vesuvius, dominating the bay.
Private transfer to Amalfi, where you meet our guide for a mozzarella class and a wine tour . Alternatively, the Pizza class in Furore, where you will discover the secrets of a true original pizza. Time to enjoy Amalfi and its views. Back to Naples
